His novel, Solo, won the 2010 Commonwealth Writers' Prize (more).
Capital, a non-fiction exploration of life and money in twenty-first-century Delhi, appeared in March 2014. In India it was awarded Tata Non-Fiction Book of the Year and shortlisted for the Crossword Award. In the UK it is currently shortlisted for the Orwell Prize and the Ondaatje Prize.
